Pilates Instructor – Maureen Turney
Maureen
Turney has been a fitness instructor for over 10 years. Maureen was
fully certified in the Pilates Method through Pilates Unlimited LLC.
Studying with Karen Sanzo and the teachers at the Pilates and Yoga
Center of St. Louis gave her a solid foundation in anatomy and
biomechanics as well as a deeper understanding of the Method.
Committed to her own Pilates practice and to continued study,
Maureen is always learning.
Maureen teaches group classes and private lessons and manages
The Studio in Eureka, where she lives with her husband Joe and two of
her five children. Maureen encourages you to be patient and
persistent in your Pilates practice. The time and effort required
are well worth it to "be centered" in your body and life. |

Pilates Instructor – Jacqueline Short
Jacqueline Short has had a lifelong involvement in sports and
fitness. In 2003 she discovered Pilates and found her “center”. In
early 2007, after months of study, Jacqueline completed her Pilates
Mat certification through Karen Sanzo of Pilates Unlimited in
Dallas, Texas. Living here in the Eureka area with her husband, two
girls and an assortment of animals, Jacqueline loves to garden and
explore local parks.
Jacqueline has found that the mindful qualities of Pilates creates a
heightened awareness of ones' body and its' biomechanics. Along with
a deep physical conditioning, she believes your Pilates practice
will nurture a more centered and focused self, affecting your
quality of life. |

Yoga Teacher – Barb
Hunt Barb
Hunt comes to us from Yoga West. She received her teaching
certificate from Kripalu Center for yoga. Barb's greatest joy is
found in sharing her lifelong love of yoga with a wide variety of
people. After years of study, Barb has developed her own teaching
style that works for her body, and her students. Barb likes to walk
her dogs, read books, and cook for her boys: husband Larry, and
their two wonderful and talented sons, Jeff and Rob.
Barb's philosophy of
yoga is to listen to our own inner guide to find what we need for a
successful yoga practice. Barb hopes to facilitate that
understanding and encourage students to approach yoga as a way of
life. |

Yoga
Coordinator –
Darlene Feder
It was
the inspired idea of Darlene, the good doctor’s mother, that
designated a space for Yoga in the floor plan of Comprehensive
Chiropractic. Through her commitment to authentic, quality
instruction, and intentionally therapeutic surroundings, “The
Studio” stands as the thriving movement component to the health and
wellness center the Feder’s have established. Darlene credits the
practice of Yoga for her return to life and living after
debilitating back injuries. Introducing Pilates to her regimen has
developed her core strength which supports her spine in her yoga
practice and her daily activities.
Besides her exercise regimen, Darlene enjoys spending time with her
wonderful extended family and friends, loves to read, garden,
travel, play Scrabble (anyone interested?), work PT at BJC Community
Health and continue learning to keep these brain cells alive!!!
She adds the artistic touch to the Studio with her gift for flower
arranging and her display of local artists work. It is her passion
and privilege to provide for her hometown community the benefits of
yoga and other healing movement modalities. |

Yoga
Teacher –
Mary Bouse
My
philosophy is: To Engage, Educate and Empower those willing to show
up and be present.
Mary
brings a style of yoga that is an eclectic composition including the
foundational principles of Anusara Hatha Yoga influenced by the
fluid flowing vinyasa style of Shiva Rae and Rodney Yee a few of my
first and most awe-inspiring teachers and guides. I continue
training and fine tuning my teaching style and personal practice. I
am trained in YogaKids and YogaTeens which are a powerful catalyst
for a lifetime foundation of wellness and wellbeing for the young.
These programs are designed to keep the child's mind and body
working together to build strength, flexibility, balance and
concentration in a playful manner. I also incorporate
Restorative Yoga "Rest, Relax & Renew" by Judith Lasater into my
structured classes and series.
After
becoming a certified yoga teacher in May of 2001, I knew that I
needed to learn more about the body and the connection of structure
and function, the endocrine system (glandular system) and
maintaining homeostasis (balance) within the body. I became a
licensed massage therapist and body worker in December 2002, which
has given me educated hands and a true feeling sense of the human
body. Yoga provides an excellent process and tools to empower self
regulatory practices that influence our daily life, health and
wellbeing.
Mary
also facilitates Stress Reduction Programs using Mindfulness Based
Stress Reduction Practices and can work with private groups or
individuals to create a specific program or series of classes.
I am
very excited about joining The Studio staff and Comprehensive
Chiropractic in contributing in the efforts of total body health and
wellbeing for the community of Eureka. |
