Shockwave - Radial Pressure Wave (RPW) Therapy

RPW are acoustic waves that generate oscillations in the tissue.  Radial wave therapy helps reduce muscle pain and activate connective tissue, temporarily aid in the increase of blood flow, and help in the treatment of tendonitis in hips and shoulders.

What does RPW feel like?

Patients may report feeling soreness and a thump-ing sensation when the treatment head passes overdysfunctional tissues. Patients report feeling verylittle discomfort when it actively travels over healthytissue. The level of discomfort depends on the areabeing treated, the settings on the device, and theacuity of the condition. Minor post-treatment sore-ness around the involved area is not uncommon.
